Objective
The Client Relationship Officer is responsible for the creation and development of a portfolio of clients, to whom he/she offers financial products and services. The main missions of the CRO are the following:
- Prospect new clients and ensure the retention of existing clients.
- Manage and analyse assigned loan applications and monitor the quality of the loan portfolio.
- Ensure a good customer relationship and multi-equip the clients with products and services that meet their needs.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
Commercial Activities:
- Ensure the achievement of commercial objectives in terms of loans, deposits and other financial services offered by client, in line with the institution's policies and procedures.
- Develop the portfolio by prospecting new clients and optimizing the retention of existing clients.
- Follow up regularly with prospects and clients, identify their needs and multi-equip them by offering adapted products and services.
- Ensure a quality customer service to maintain a good level of client satisfaction.
- Pay attention to the local business community and events that may be of importance to its clients.
- Use and regularly update Customer Relationship Management tools.
- Manage and analyse assigned loan applications and assess their level of risk in line with the institution's policies, procedures, and best practices in terms of risk analysis.
- Follow up on loan files until disbursement or rejection of the application and inform the client in a timely manner.
- Monitor the loans outstanding and alert his/her hierarchy upon the occurrence of a risk that could affect the client's ability to repay.
- Monitor the quality of repayments in order to limit the risk of default.
- Carry out recovery actions on loans in arrears according to the strategy established and in line with the institution's policies and procedures.
- Ensure the continuity of portfolio monitoring in case of absence of other CROs and carry out portfolio transfers when necessary.
Education and Experience
Education level and specific training required:
- Must be a B.Sc or HND graduate of an accredited institution.
- Must possess NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and must not be older than thirty-five (35).
Required work experience:
- 2 years experience in a business or a financial institution in a microfinance bank / institution will be appreciated.
