Job Description



PURPOSE OF THE ROLE



  • A hospital revenue officer is in charge of managing the bills and claims all clients, both corporate and private. To be successful in this job role, one should be able to maintain billing records in adherence with the policy of Cedarcrest Hospitals Limited.

  • General duties include inputting billing data into a computer for all services rendered with proper coding, filing claims submissions, allocating collections and filing receipts, calculating, closing and balancing on a daily and monthly basis clients’ accounts, and basic bookkeeping of clients’ accounts.


Routine tasks



  • Upload and submit online bills for corporate organizations to meet set deadlines;

  • Perform periodic bills reconciliation with clients;

  • Monitor online payments, credit card or bank transfer payments;

  • Prepare and dispatch hardcopy bills to clients on request;

  • Collate, sort and classify bills of patients of all categories;

  • Review online invoices to identify any errors before invoice delivery;

  • Compile and maintain documents and records of all online bills;

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures in order to achieve set goals;

  • Work in alliance with HMO officers to obtain approvals and correct codes for all pre-authorised services;

  • Update all online billing procedures and handle all online billing Inquiries from the Clients; and

  • Handle any other responsibility assigned by the Head of Billing or Finance Manager.

  • Periodic reconciliations with HMOs and Companies, where there are variations in payment.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS



  • Timely dispatch of Online Bills

  • Ability to upload bills accurately on online platforms

  • Provision of relevant information to the Medical Officer with regards to vetting of bills before dispatch

  • Reconciliation of vetted bills from HMO to Initial despatched bills.


HIERARCHY



  • This role reports to the Finance Manager - Gudu.


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS



  • B.Sc in Finance or Accounting

  • 1-2 years of experience in similar role.


PROFILE REQUIREMENTS



  • Familiarity with online platforms and electronic equipments like laptops and desktop computers

  • Good math skills

  • Strong communication and time management skills

  • Customer satisfaction-oriented

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks while providing oversight to additional staff
