OVERVIEW

The Loan Officer is a representative of the Financial Institution who sells the credit products of the

institution to individuals, corporate entities or businesses that are eligible to borrow. The Loan Officer also evaluates, recommends loan applications for approval and manages owned loan portfolio.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Sells loan products to individuals, corporate entities, formal and informal businesses that are eligible to borrow.


• Analyze potential loan markets and develop referral networks in order to locate prospects for loans.


• Interview loan applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of repayment of loans.


• Determine all loan applicable ratios and metrics and set up loan payment plans.


• Complete loan contracts and counsel clients on loan terms and conditions.


• Conduct KYC and KYCB on all loan applicants and their guarantors by verifying their physical and business addresses.


• Prepares a complete loan assessment according to the institution’s credit procedures.


• Presents loan proposals to the credit department and inform the customers about the credit decisions.


• Recommend loans within specified limits and refer loan applications outside those limits to management for exceptional approval.


• Ensure prompt loan repayments and collections from clients and loan monitoring after disbursement.


• Ensure loan portfolio quality and growth in line with the institution’s set targets and industry portlio at risk ratios.


• Οperate in compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance guidelines.


• Actively participating in committees and group discussions, proactively seeking for improvement and willing to align personal goals with the institution’s goal.

PROFILE

• Candidates should possess minimum OND educational qualification


• Basic knowledge of Financial Mathematics & Accounting is required


• At least 1-2 years relevant working experience as a Loan Officer


• Ability to work effectively in a team environment


• Sound written and verbal English communication skills


• Basic computer skills


• Detailed and target oriented


• Excellent analytical skills


• Customer service oriented with exceptional sales skills
