Job Description

• As a Web Designer/WordPress Developer at Trading Partner Limited, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing attractive and functional websites for our company. Your primary duties include conceptualizing and implementing creative ideas for our websites, as well as creating visual elements that are in line with our branding.


• Since we'll be using WordPress, familiarity with the CMS is very crucial. You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end management including the implementation of WordPress themes and plugins as well as site integration and security updates. Knowledge of CSS, HTML, or PHP is not a must.


• Experience in general graphics design will be an added advantage as you may also be responsible for the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing, and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos. You’ll be the one to shape the visual aspects of our advert copy, websites, books, magazines, product packaging, exhibitions, and more.


• Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, you need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. If you can communicate well and work methodically as part of a team, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualizing creative website design ideas.


• Testing and improving the design of the website.


• Designing and building the website front-end.


• Conducting website performance tests.


• Maintaining the appearance of websites by enforcing content standards.


• Working with WordPress and different content management systems (if the need arises.)


• Communicating design ideas using user flows, process flows, site maps, and wireframes.


• Incorporating functionalities and features into WordPress sites.


• Developing graphics, illustrations, and other creative materials and content for the web, social, and other digital platforms that are on-brand, reinforces our status and reputation, and is appropriate for our various audiences


• Creating infographics and presentation materials to simplify the communication of complex concepts and data.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in website design


• Proven experience with WordPress themes, plugins, and site performance optimization


• Strong visual communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts and data through images;


• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (mainly InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, and Photoshop), CorelDraw, Microsoft Office, DropBox, and G Suite. Related design software is welcome.


• Proven work experience as a WordPress developer. Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery (not a dealbreaker.)


• Experience with developing graphics, illustrations, videos, gifs, and other creative materials for web, social, and other digital platforms


• Technically proficient with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve;


• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues. Great communication skills.
