Job Description
ROLE PURPOSE
- To be responsible to conduct beneficiary profiling exercise which is aimed at updating and refining the list of households and beneficiaries in camps and host community through a verification process to account for deaths and births of beneficiary household members to eliminate non-valid SCOPE details of beneficiaries that have left the camps and also to set up and management of help desk during targeting/profiling to attend to issues of inclusion/exclusion errors that may arise from the targeting process.
DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE
- The Targeting Assistants will work as part of emergency response unit in Michika & Madagali in beneficiary profiling/Targeting and Management of complaints of Inclusion and Exclusion errors that may arise from targeting exercise.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Classify households according to their level of vulnerability and ensure that food assistance is targeted to households based on their vulnerability.
- Involved in Community-based preliminary registration with possible household “door to door.
- Establish community registration or targeting committee and ensure are good representative for the community.
- Establish a Community registration/targeting committee to based on the village context and establish valid and also establish (primary, secondary and exclusion criteria).
- Ensure all the processes are dully recorded and publicly announced to all households within the community
- Receive feedback/complaints from project participants and community members
- Training of community targeting committee on how to use targeting criteria.
- Provide the registration format/forms to establish the draft registration master list
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferably in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Nutrition, Agriculture or other relevant discipline and evidence of NYSC discharge certificate
Skills & Knowledge
- At least 1year practical work experience in similar role.
- Team player
- Ability to communicate in English, Hausa and Key language from Michika & Madagali
- Basic programmatic and administrative skills
- Communicates clearly and effectively
- Possesses good report writing skills
- Passion for learning and development.
- Good computer literacy skills.
- Ability to work with good initiative and meeting deadlines
- Ability and willingness to stay at the deep field level
Desirable
- Managing UNWFP-funded projects is preferable.
- Experience in community Mobilization.
- Strong communication skills: oral, written and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, team building, conflict resolution and ability to deliver PLAN’s strategic objectives.
- Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations
- Facilitate the development and scheduling of volunteer outreach activities
