Profile

• The CNG Operator is responsible for the smooth running of the CNG downloading station.


• This individual will be a safety champion who practices good housekeeping with good attention to detail.


• He should be computer literate with good communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing hourly updates to CNG supplier’s Operations Team.


• Responsible for CNG trailer connection/disconnection. Ensure tight connection between skid and CNG hose.


• Responsible for earthing CNG skid before decanting and unearthing before dispatch.


• Operate valves on CNG skid manifold, responsible for shutdown and start-up of downloading station equipment. Go through proper sequence as outlined in SOP.


• Control equipment to regulate the flow and pressure of natural gas to feedlines of boilers, furnaces and/or power generating equipment after receiving go ahead from Utility department.


• Detect abnormal conditions at the station through routine physical walkabouts.


• Determine causes of abnormal pressure variances, and make corrective recommendations.


• Optimize and adjust temperature, pressure, level, flow rate, or transfer of gas.


• Monitor equipment functioning, observe and record temperature, pressure, level, and flow gauges, and perform regular unit checks, in order to ensure that all equipment is operating as it should.


• Top up water heater as and when required.


• De-pressure equipment and pipelines as and when necessary.


• Respond appropriately to emergencies such as gas leaks, fire, etc.


• Remove condensates from PRMS as per SOP.


• Contact CNG supplier maintenance crew when necessary. Request that repair and maintenance work be performed.


• Monitor transportation and storage of flammable and other potentially dangerous products (ignition sources) located nearby to ensure safety.


• Give notification to CNG supplier on arrival of skids and departure of skids.


• Direct truck drivers on which empty skid to take along. Physically show truck driver’s a safe place to park.0

Requirements and Qualifications

• Candidates should possess an OND / HND / B.Sc Degree in an Engineering or Science field.


• Minimum of 2 years work experience.


• Great Technical Work Experience


• Critical and Analytical Problem solver, with keen eyes for details.
