Job Description
This role requires an organized, diligent and driven operations officer to increase the efficiency and profitability of our operations. In this role, your duties will include collaborating with relevant staff, departments, and vendors to ensure timely processing and delivery of quality services across all branches; while conferring with supervisors and department heads to resolve operational problems and ensure positive internal and external customer relationships.
To be successful in this role, candidate must demonstrate an excellent operational competency, strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and an impeccable ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive orders from branches and ensure they receive what they need.
- Review orders from the branches to verify what is ordered against available stock at the central office.
- Analyze and maintain accurate operational data, and manage stock control and inventory checks.
- Follow up with vendors and dispatchers for timely and safe delivery of ordered items.
- Verify full payment is received for lens orders before ordering.
- Review invoices from vendors for supplies and ensure the amount is in line with the agreed amount.
- Handle statutory remittances to ensure payments are made as and when due.
- Purchase lenses and plan inventory of lenses to meet the business needs.
- Collaborate with responsible staff, departments, vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality services.
- Communicate changes in an order process to relevant parties.
- Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
- Confer with Supervisors and Department Heads to resolve operations-accounting problems and ensure positive vendor and employee relationships.
- Promote efficiency by implementing the department’s standard operational procedures.
- Implement and assist in the development of quality assurance programs for the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
