Job Summary:



  • A Technical Adviser to the Group Managing Director (GMD) provides technical guidance and support to the GMD on all technical matters related to the organization's operations.

  • The Technical Adviser will work closely with the GMD, executive team, and other stakeholders to ensure that the organization's technical strategy aligns with the overall business strategy.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide input to technical studies/research projects, technical reports, project planning reports, etc. to be presented to the GMD.

  • Ensure that the organization's technical strategy aligns with the overall business strategy.

  • Aid in the development, coordination, and implementation of strategic plans for the Group and its subsidiaries.

  • Advise the GMD and executive team on all technical matters related to the organization's operations.

  • Provide technical guidance on the design, development, and implementation of new products, services, and systems.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and advise the GMD and executive team on potential implications for the organization.

  • Review and evaluate technical proposals and make recommendations to the GMD and executive team.

  • Evaluate, review, and interpret technical inquiries on contractors/vendors, and be able to provide recommendations to the GMD on both existing and potential contractors/vendors.

  • Work collaboratively with other subsidiaries, and departments, such as Marketing & Comms., R&D, engineering, and IT, to ensure that technical solutions are feasible and aligned with business objectives.

  • Track projects and the decision-making process for projects that require board and top-level committee approvals (e.g., board committees) and ensure that the relevant information for the committee to make an informed decision is readily available.

  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to ensure that technical considerations are taken into account.

  • Represent the organization at technical conferences, seminars, and other industry events.

  • Provide technical support to other members of the management team.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as engineering or computer science.

  • A Master's degree is a plus.

  • At least 10 years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in a similar industry.

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in areas such as product design, development, and implementation.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide sound technical advice to senior executives.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
