Job Description



  • We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to lead and oversee the work of employees in our company.

  • You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of business operations as well as setting strategic goals for the future.

  • The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all matters of business.

  • They will be a competent leader able to provide guidance that enhances performance in a manner which incorporates the company’s vision and culture.

  • The goal will be to ensure the profitability of our company’s activities to drive sustainable development and long-term success.


Responsibilities



  • Develop goals and objectives that tend to growth and prosperity;

  • Design and implement business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of goals;

  • Ensure that the company has the adequate and suitable resources to complete its activities (e.g. people, material, equipment etc.);

  • Organize and coordinate operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity;

  • Supervise the work of employees and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness;

  • Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers;

  • Gather, analyse and interpret external and internal data and write reports;

  • Assess overall company performance against objectives;

  • Represent the company in events, conferences etc;

  • Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines.

  • Establish a plan, gather resources, mobilize, and carry out the actual delivery;

  • Create marketing materials (case studies, references, client quotes, etc);

  • Give the appropriate business unit comments on product gaps and development;

  • Lead the introduction of new items to the channel and sales force;

  • Help with the compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, collect financial and operational data;

  • Report expenses, activities, results, market position, and projections with accuracy and promptness;

  • Create capture tactics for sales targets that are in line with the objectives of the practice area and the business model;

  • Participate in creating the annual budget;

  • Manage daily activities and offer assistance;

  • Guide people to reach their objectives by being focused on important priorities;

  • Choose the proper course of action, use judgement within the confines of established rules and standards


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of MBA in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations Management or related field;

  • Minimum of 7 years of proven work experience in operations management, sales and marketing and at least 2 years in a managerial position;

  • Previous experience in an ICT company is an added advantage;

  • Previous experience in sales/marketing is an added advantage;

  • Must have completed the mandatory NYSC program;

  • A Leadership certification is an added advantage;

  • A clearly defined strategic thought process and a continuous improvement mindset with excellent problem-solving skills;

  • Understands the various business models for power sales, and how best to diversify and mitigate portfolio concentration risk;

  • This position requires an in-depth understanding of business development, critical thinking and the ability to provide time-bound solutions to the benefit of the company, and projects;

  • Lead by example and offer support/co-ordination to company workflow as required;

  • Excellent negotiation, project and contract management skills;

  • Great business and financial acumen with an excellent understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks;

  • Great relationship management skills; an understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods;

  • Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and project management tools (MS Project, Asana, Slack etc);

  • Business level fluency in major Nigerian languages, a plus;

  • Dependability, attention to detail, cooperation, stress tolerance, concern for others, initiative, leadership, self-control, and independence are the desired pre-requisites;

  • Ability to develop and update professional knowledge and skills quickly and efficiently;

  • Ability to apply professional knowledge and skills in the advancement of business objectives;

  • Adapts to changes in company strategy whilst developing own strategy to achieve personal goals of competently owning and managing processes;

  • Has a collaborative attitude and ability to drive that through across business units/work functions;

  • Understands company strategy and vision and is able to drive that through across to other employees across the organization;

  • Assesses own development needs and develops self to improve job performance and fulfil future potential. Contributes to the team ethos and instilling the values of Company;

  • The ability to evaluate and convey complex information to others in an effective manner through concise communication skills and clear presentation skills in both verbal and written contexts;

  • Should possess requisite skill sets- active listening, speaking, reading, comprehension, critical thinking, performance monitoring, time management, people management, material resource management, effective time management, judgment and decision making, teaching, coaching, and social awareness.
