About the Role

• We are seeking a creative Channel Scheduler, to join our team. As a Channel Scheduler, you will be required to schedule videos and other content into the programming software for your assigned Trace channel(s) with minimal technical errors. Balancing this with the creative aspect of video selection and scheduling, in such a way to excite and engage the channel viewers.


• Under the responsibility of our musical programmers, your mission will be to assist them on one or more TRACE television channels, in accordance with the musical strategy determined by the Management.


• Integrated into the Programming Team, you will learn how to manage the “back end” of our music service, by following training on the G-SELECTOR programming software, and the LOUISE broadcasting software.


• You will have the opportunity to work with the music programming team on innovative projects related to the development of channels or platforms.

Job Description

• A routine check on the creation sheet for new videos to aid fiche creation.


• Auditing audio for offensive words in music videos with audio editing apps and software such as Fruity Loops, Audacity, etc.


• Ensures that all selected music videos are uploaded and edited on trace broadcaster.


• Screening and editing music videos with offensive scenes of nudity, drugs, etc. in them during fiche creation.


• Scheduling process - Manage monthly auto-scheduling, promo briefs, EPG updates, etc. on Trace Naija, Jama, or ST Naija.


• Channel Scheduling - management of assigned channel, maintaining performance benchmark, troubleshooting on air issues.


• Video review and selection - Review videos on Wrike and with the committee weekly and update the playlist


• Assisting the marketing team in sourcing social media and marketing content for your assigned channel in order to improve audience interaction.


• Content Creation - Assisting members of other departments in conceptualizing, fleshing out, and executing editorial concepts in terms of production, sales, marketing, and public relations


• Channel Quality and Ratings - Monitor mistakes on the channel to ensure they are corrected speedily. Upkeep the standards of the channel and other functions as may be assigned.

Qualifications / Experience

• Graduate Degree within any discipline from an accredited institution.


• 3 to 5+ years’ fiche creator and program/channel scheduling experience, with some understanding/knowledge of the inner workings of Music and Broadcast.


• Relevant training and certifications are desirable.

Skills Competency:

• Proficient use of the computer.


• Knowledge of G-selector, Fruity loops, Audacity, or other TV/radio scheduling software.

• A calm and supportive attitude when dealing with stress and tight deadlines.


• Result and deadline oriented with the ability to multitask effectively – effectively work/handle multiple tasks and projects within a limited timeline.


• Strong Technical skills, akeen eye for detail, and organizational skills.
