Job Description



The Role



  • We are looking for an accountant for our office in Abuja who will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, taxation reports and other related activities that will assist the organization in finance management and effective use of resources. The pay is 100,000 naira monthly.


Job Description



  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.

  • Reconcile bank accounts at least once a month, verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the correct accounts.

  • File required tax forms with federal and state government agencies accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Maintain the accounting software system and recommend updates to improve the accounting software.

  • Monitor and maintain the tax filing calendar to ensure that all required tax filings are submitted timely and accurately.

  • Develop, implement and maintain tax compliance policies and procedures for the company.

  • Review and reconcile tax accounts and resolve tax issues with tax authorities as needed.

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the impact of these changes.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements



  • Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration and any other related field.

  • Must reside in Abuja, FCT

  • Professional Certification is a must. ICAN, CPA, etc.

  • Experience in tax accounting, planning, compliance, and research.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

  • Sound knowledge of general accounting software.

  • In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
