The Data Centre Power System Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of power systems within data centre environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of electrical systems and their applications in mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
Implement, and maintain power systems in data centre.
Conduct regular testing and maintenance on power systems to ensure optimal performance.
Develop and maintain power system documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and operating procedures.
Troubleshoot power system issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
Provide support to data centre operations teams to ensure power systems are working effectively and efficiently.
Collaborate with the facility manager and other engineers and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvements and cost savings.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in power systems technology
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to power system emergencies as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
3-5 years of experience installing and maintaining power systems in data centre environments.
Technically savvy in data centre system and equipment management.
Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices
Experience with power distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems.
Ability to lead team and supervise projects and data centre operations
Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and codes, including NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Availability for on-call rotations and emergency response.
