Job Overview



  • The Data Centre Power System Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of power systems within data centre environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of electrical systems and their applications in mission-critical environments.


Responsibilities



  • Implement, and maintain power systems in data centre.

  • Conduct regular testing and maintenance on power systems to ensure optimal performance.

  • Develop and maintain power system documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and operating procedures.

  • Troubleshoot power system issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.

  • Provide support to data centre operations teams to ensure power systems are working effectively and efficiently.

  • Collaborate with the facility manager and other engineers and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvements and cost savings.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in power systems technology

  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to power system emergencies as needed.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 3-5 years of experience installing and maintaining power systems in data centre environments.

  • Technically savvy in data centre system and equipment management.

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices

  • Experience with power distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems.

  • Ability to lead team and supervise projects and data centre operations

  • Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and codes, including NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Availability for on-call rotations and emergency response.
