About the job



  • The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping the way our company is perceived by key audiences. You will drive brand awareness by being involved in all stages of the communications process from concept to message development to result-oriented evaluation.


Responsibilities



  • Direct oversight of the communications team.

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic communications plans to support the organization’s business development efforts.

  • Coordinating communications efforts to meet business development targets.

  • Develop and implement communications plans and strategies.

  • Ensure all outgoing communications of all forms align with the organization’s messaging and are on brand.

  • Coordinate with the relevant teams to produce success stories, lessons learned, news releases, and data on progress reports for newsletter publications and donor reports.

  • Manage the newsletter distribution list, adding new subscribers and continuing to grow the distribution list.

  • Develop and implement communications plans and strategies.

  • Manage the newsletter distribution list, adding new subscribers and continuing to grow the distribution list.

  • Scout, identify, and attend strategic networking events. Keeping a database of connections/networks made.

  • Target strategic communication to past and intending donor databases; highlight Ikore's capabilities, past projects executed, innovative future projects, etc.

  • Work with the Growth and Partnership Lead to develop a pipeline of opportunities.

  • Work with the business development in securing partnerships, managing team members’ inputs, contributing to writing tenders, and designing competitive budgets.

  • Provide strategic and innovative approaches to communicating Ikore’s work, planning and implementing advocacy campaigns on the thematic areas Ikore is passionate about, and also in celebration of international days that align with Ikore’s vision.

  • Provide support to all internal and external events. Providing event management support, publicity, producing posters and signs, preparing visual presentations, and organizing event photos and videos.

  • Promote events and publish lessons learned (written and audio-visual forms) on all social media platforms.


Qualifications.



  • BSc or Master’s degree in international relations, international development, English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications or related field / a Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of relevant experience;

  • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • 5+ years' of experience in communications operations

  • Strong organizational management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, adhere to tight deadlines and respond with flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge in the international development field and competitive market in economic growth and other relevant technical focus areas.

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, and professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including the ability to present concepts verbally.

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills

  • Superior project management and time management skills

  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media

  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
