Jhpiego proposes to provide targeted USG technical assistance (TA) resources to specifically bolster NMEP current work through the GFATM on strengthening mitigation for malaria services specific to integration of COVID19 into Malaria program, surveillance, laboratory and data management.
This TA will be on the ground support from country level experts in these fields to support the ongoing activities being Implemented by NCDC as part of their GFATM funded work.
The technical Advisor will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing an effective system to monitor progress, impacts, and successes of project activities and performance at all levels.
S/he will gather, analyze, and process complex information related to all aspects of program activity implementation.
Responsibilities
Provide TA in the Implementation and scale up of National testing strategy integrated within the Malaria program across the COVID19 RM focused states – focus on implementation of bi-directional testing
Harmonization and update of SOP/ algorithm and guideline development for integrated/bi-directional testing and facilitate collaboration with relevant government agencies
Technical assistance in systems support for malaria data management to facilitate tracking and monitoring integrated testing, and provide inter-operability with the National SORMAS system for COVID-19 testing outcome reporting to the NCDC
Strengthen electronic data capturing, analysis, visualization and use for Malaria and COVID19 with real time availability of actionable data and high-quality surveillance data that can be used to guide decision making.
Technical assistance to National and sub-national teams in 12 priority states on cross cutting implementation gaps on Malaria within COVID19 context
Collaborate with Malaria program partners and other relevant partner organizations to adopt and implement agreed upon standards to improve MIS and ICT for LLINs campaign and other Malaria interventions
Support the implementation, data analysis and report writing of Malaria Indicator survey
Work closely with GHS technical staff and GoN partners to expand and support GHS activities and expand support to Government agencies
Represent the project in stakeholders’ meetings with donor and GoN team in Abuja and state level
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
MBBS, Public Health or related field, and equivalent job experience 7 - 8 years in programmatic support of international health projects
Strong familiarity with Nigeria health system, Global health security, COVID19 and Malaria program
Ability to interact with established networks of senior level international health professionals, ministry of health officials and other partners
Comfortable with a team approach to programming and the ability to manage several major activities simultaneously
