Job Description



  • Lead Generation for Generators in the allocated region and customer segments.

  • Appoint new sales dealers for the generators.

  • Make presentations for customers and do assessment, proposal and close orders

  • Key responsibility is to meet sales revenue targets and expand dealer base across the assigned regions and customer segments.

  • Stay current with the latest developments in the marketplace and competitor activities.

  • Address partner related issues, sales conflicts and pricing issues on time, in consultation with his Manager.

  • Manage sales pipeline, forecast monthly sales and identify new business opportunities.

  • Plan partner marketing activities such as tradeshows, campaigns and other promotional activities.

  • Travel to meet with potential and existing clients, in the assigned sales territory

  • Submit daily market visit reports and competition intelligence.  

  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through networking.

  • Build networks and spheres of influence in order to grow prospect lists.

  • Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.

  • Set up meetings with potential clients to negotiate and close deals.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations on products / services.

  • Report to the Business Unit Head about goals, sales, and prospects.

  • Participate in events and conferences on behalf of the company.

  • Setting sales goals and developing sales strategies.

  • Researching prospects and generating leads.

  • Contacting potential and existing customers on the phone, per email, and in person.

  • Handling customer questions, inquiries, and complaints.

  • Preparing and sending quotes and proposals.

  • Managing the sales process through specific software programs.

  • Building and maintaining a CRM database.

  • Meeting daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.

  • Participating in sales team meetings.


Requirements



  • B.Eng. in Electrical Electronics Engineering or any other related field.

  • Degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • 4 - 7 years post qualification experience, preferably Generator or Inverter industry.

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in handling generators with basic knowledge of electricity.

  • Previous working experience as "Area Sales Manager" in renewable energy & power

  • Adequate knowledge of Lagos markets.

  • Previous experience in selling power products.

  • Experience in handling dealer network and commercial customers.

  • Target oriented and ability to deliver results.

  • Should have knowledge of basic excel and PowerPoint Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work under high pressure.

  • Self-driven, decisive and dogged.

  • Must be well aware of the location geography and market areas.

  • Customer-oriented with strong negotiation skills.

  • Sales driven and customer focused.

  • Willingness to travel and ability to work under pressure to achieve set targets.

  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Customer oriented with strong negotiation skills.

  • Must be well versed with MS Office applications.

  • Transparent, honest, detail oriented and able to work with minimum supervision.
