Job Summary
- To coordinate and track the implementation of the strategic plan for the achievement of the Bank’s corporate strategy (both at the Bank level and SBU level)
- To provide insight into the trends, identify potential and emerging opportunities and threats in the financial services industry, and determine the impact on the bank
- To interpret and provide insight into competitors’ strategy, business activities and performance to effectively guide the Bank’s competitive response; provide information on best practices and future business direction
Functions & Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Bank’s corporate and Strategic Business units (SBU) strategy articulation, review and revalidation
- Provide management with timely, well analyzed and in-depth industry and market diagnostics to aid strategic decision making
- Provide management with quality reports on competitor analysis and surveillance as inputs for planning and decision making
- Analyze and monitor the performance of the strategic plans of the bank against actual plans and present reports to the Executive Management team
- Provide senior management with comprehensive regular reporting across the business units
- Organize strategic annual retreats for the Bank
- Track & drive achievement of strategic objectives/ deliverables from retreats
- Coordinate credit ratings exercise and manage the Bank’s relationships with Rating Agencies
- Assist project/initiative owners to ensure initiatives, business cases and implementation plans are well defined, developed, monitored and executed within an overall framework for planning and transformation
- Coordinate project/initiative implementation of the Retail business, as well as escalating issues to Lead sponsor as the case may be
- Contribute to driving improvements and efficiencies in process execution and service delivery in the Retail Group
- Carry out in-depth analysis to produce reports that communicated to stakeholders as regards the business
- Take on additional responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head, Strategy
Professional Requirements
- A good first degree in any discipline. Professional accounting qualification required. Relevant Masters’ degree will be an advantage
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a bank
- Experience supporting transformation initiatives in large private and public sector organization is desired.
