Job Description

• Overall in-charge of the Industrial Gases Strategic Business Unit - operations and maintenance, Sales & Profitability of the business Gas business as whole. This involves production and bottling plant with a capacity of 200 M3/Hr Oxygen/Nitrogen , 100M3/hr Acetylene, 500 kg/hr &2000 Kg/hr Co2 plants and 300m3/hr Argon compression unit. He will also drive production of medical oxygen & setting up the distribution system in hospitals. The plant facility is located at SANGO OTA (an hours drive from Lagos Airport).


• The Group has optimistic expansion plans for its industrial gas business, which is expected to be doubled in 3 years. He has to understand and drive the sales & monitor the profitability of the business taking full ownership of the Profit & Loss.


• Reports to the Group Managing Director.He needs to supervise the Expat plant Manager and local team in all required functions like Accounts, Sales, HR etc. (head count of over 120 including regular and contract staff) deployed in the plant.


• To drive the business and ensure the business delivers the desired return on the investment as per short- & long-term business plans.


• This position will have the overall accountability to supervise & drive:


• Optimum production plan in consultation of all concerned.


• Implementation of Quality Policy Safety & Environment Policy & Objectives as defined & QMS in line with ISO 9001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007.


• The overall operations of Plant & machinery including raw material & production planning, productivity, plant & equipment Maintenance, stores & purchase activities


• Uninterrupted plant operations.


• To ensure that the Plant and machinery are maintained in a healthy condition.


• Excellent housekeeping in the plant and good housekeeping becomes a habit.


• To ensure adequate training is imparted to the local staff so that their skills remain updated.


• All company & group policies are fully adhered to.


• Sales and coordination with the Customers.’


• Discipline & orderliness.


• He takes full accountability to ensure the safe custody of company assets including the Raw material & Finished goods.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical Engineering.


• He should have about 20 plus years of experience of which, 5 years should be as the Head of a reputed Industrial Gases manufacturing unit with a production and Maintenance, managing profitability in an Air separation business (Oxygen/Nitrogen, Acetylene), Co2 plants and Pump filling stations. He should have full knowledge & experience of mixing and calibrating gases and Experience of operations and maintenance of Ingersoll Rand Air Compressor is essential.


• African/ Nigerian experience will be an added advantage.
