Job Description



  • To Manage the Company’s Accounting function, provide regular Accounts information to the Management. To produce annual statutory accounts and other statutory returns whilst ensuring the accuracy of the Company’s ledgers.


Responsibilities



  • Maintain a documented system of Accounting Policies and Procedures.

  • Manage outsourced function e.g. the audit Process.

  • Assist in overseeing the operations of the Accounting Department including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.

  • Assist in overseeing the Accounting Operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operation, policies and procedures.

  • Assist in coordinating, establishing and executing of internal controls over the Company’s. Accounting and Financial procedures, in line with the internal control personnel.

  • Monitor the performance of the department.


Transactions:



  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable.

  • Ensure that all accounts receivable are processed and collected promptly.

  • Ensure that the payroll is processed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that required debts payments are made on a timely basis.

  • Maintain the chart of accounts.

  • Ensure and maintain an orderly accounting filing system.

  • Ensure and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions


Compliance:



  • Coordinate and liais with external tax accounts for income tax preparation and auditors who prepare internal audits for the company. This includes keeping Company records organized and readily available for examination.

  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for annual audit.

  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt agreement.

  • Comply with local, State, and Federal Government reporting requirements and task filings.

  • Handle any other assignment as directed by the HOD/Management.


Qualifications



  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc / MBA / M.Sc Degree with at least 15 years experience.
