Job Description
An agritech/Agro allied company in the heart of lekki is looking to fill the role of an operations Manager.He will be responsible for;
Operations Management:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the department ensuring smooth functioning of all processes related to agro commodity trading , production, processing, and logistics
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality standards.
- Monitor and optimize resource allocation, including manpower, machinery, equipment, and materials.
Supply Chain Management:
- sourcing for agrocommodity in the length and breadth Nigeria and West Africa.
- Coordinate and manage the supply chain activities, including procurement, inventory management and transportation.
- Ensure timely sourcing of raw materials, seeds and other agricultural inputs required for agro commodity trading
- Establish strong relationships with suppliers, farmers, and vendors to secure a consistent and reliable supply of quality commodities.
- sourcing for agrocommodity in the length and breadth Nigeria and W/Africa.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Develop and enforce quality control measures to ensure adherence to international standards and regulations for agro commodities.
- Implement quality assurance procedures throughout the production and processing stages to maintain consistent product quality.
- Ensure compliance with relevant certifications, such as Global Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Organic, or Fair Trade certifications.
International Trade and Export:
- Manage and facilitate international trade operations, including export processes, documentation, customs regulations, and compliance with international trade laws.
- Conduct market research to identify potential export opportunities, establish new markets, and develop relationships with international buyers and distributors.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, certifications, and quality standards of target markets.
Team Management and Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and manage a competent operations team, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Set clear goals and targets for the team, and monitor their performance to achieve operational objectives.
Process Improvement and Innovation:
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, identifying areas for optimization, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
- Stay updated with technological advancements and industry trends, leveraging innovative solutions and technologies to enhance operations.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess operational risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement appropriate control measures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for employees and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement business continuity plans to minimize disruptions in operations.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, suppliers, customers, government agencies, and industry associations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, finance, and research and development, to achieve common goals.
