Job Description



We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. We are seeking trustworthy candidates who work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.


To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer and verbal and written communication skills. You will also have excellent presentation skills with the ability to successfully communicate complex quantitative data to decision-makers.


Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on the financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations.


Responsibilities



  • Manage all accounting transactions

  • Prepare budget forecasts

  • Publish financial statements on time

  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings

  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable

  • Ensure timely bank payments

  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns

  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements

  • Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity

  • Comply with financial policies and regulations

  • Maintaining accurate financial records.

  • Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.

  • Assisting management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Keeping an eye on incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable

  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions

  • Communicate with the Manager and/or Director on work status and client issues that arise

  • Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines

  • Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes

  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner


Qualifications



  • BSc in Accounting, Finance or a relevant degree

  • 3-5 years of accounting/finance experience

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.

  • Experience with general ledger functions

  • ICAN/ACCA certification is a plus

  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
