Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include,
- The safe and efficient transportation of IRC personnel.
- The safe and efficient transportation of IRC materials
- The care and maintenance of IRC vehicles and accessories
- Comply with IRC fleet and driving policies and standards.
- Representation of IRC in a professional manner.
Key Competencies
- No road safety-related fines or convictions
- Thorough knowledge of road rules and regulations
- Safe/Defensive driving skills.
- Skills in routine vehicle maintenance and minor repair
- Knowledge (or ability to quickly learn) of HF, VHF, and satellite communications equipment.
- Team spirit and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to carry out limited, un-supervised tasks.
- Display an attitude and behavior that reflects well on both themselves and the IRC.
Expected Deliverables
- Strict adherence to the IRC’s vehicle policies and procedures, including the use of seatbelts by all passengers.
- Daily and pre-long distance vehicle checks. Accurate upkeep of the vehicle’s log sheet.
- Maintaining the vehicle clean, fueled and mechanically sound.
- Inspecting and maintaining vehicle accessories.
Qualifications
Education: Secondary School leaving Certificate
Work Experience : Minimum of 1 year experience as a professional driver preferably with an INGO.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Pay attention to details.
- problem solving
- Excellent driving skills.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)
Language Skills: Speak and write English language clearly
Certificates or Licenses: Valid National drivers' license
