Responsibilities



  • Liaise with executive management as well as other senior members of the finance team to determine funding needs of businesses across the Group.

  • Advise on appropriate capital structures for all businesses, in order to mitigate financial risk and optimize shareholder returns.

  • Oversee cash management across the Group, with the objective of maximizing working capital availability and minimizing finance costs.

  • Develop and execute funding strategies to support growth objectives for all businesses within the Group

  • Take senior responsibility for managing relationships with banking partners.

  • Ensure availability of short-term credit lines (including access to the commercial paper market) to ensure that liquidity needs are always met

  • Manage the investor relations process, by maintaining and developing relationships with local and international investors.

  • Lead all negotiations with lenders and potential investors, including pricing, security, covenants, valuation, governance, etc

  • Prepare (or supervise preparation of) investor presentations, pitch decks, and other materials to support funding efforts.

  • Continuously observe and analyse financial market trends and conditions to identify potential opportunities and risks for the Group’s businesses.


Candidate requirements



  • An appropriate postgraduate qualification such as an MBA, or M.Sc. Finance, Economics or Risk Management

  • Professional qualifications such as FRM, ACA, ACCA, CFA, would also be beneficial

  • Twelve (12) years cognate experience in funding-related roles- commercial/investment banking, corporate treasury, development finance.

  • Experience in the international commodities space will be favourably considered

  • Experience in Manufacturing will also be of advantageous

  • A combination of strong financial and analytical skills as well as experience in engaging financiers and investors and gaining their confidence

  • Ability to demonstrate strong relationships with local and international investors is critical

  • Strong project management skills.
