Role description


The finance assistant will support our financial department. The responsibilities of a finance assistant include processing payments, updating financial records, monitoring budgets, and managing invoices. As a finance assistant, you should have strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, good organizational skills, and working knowledge of accounting software.


Responsibilities: Specific duties include



  • Understanding individual project requirements and ensuring compliance

  • Extracting and reviewing data for reports

  • Processing payments for vendors and staff

  • Developing project financial reports


Required competencies:



  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and use of accounting software (QuickBooks)

  •  Excellent mathematical skills

  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting reporting standards

  • Good organizational skills

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Excellent time management skills

  •  High level of integrity and reliability

  •  Ability to work with little or no supervision

  •  Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree (First- or second-class upper) from a recognized university in accounting, finance, mathematics, or business administration

  • Minimum one-year post-NYSC experience in a relevant field

  • Industry knowledge of best practices, policies, and current regulations in accounting

  • Additional certifications in accounting or auditing preferred

  • Experience in an Audit firm, financial services, and management consulting is an advantage
