Job Description
Purpose of role:
- This role is to perform and coordinate accounting duties within SAO Agro. The Company requires an experienced accountant with minimum 7 years of track record backed with relevant professional certifications.
- Your key role will be to ensure the accuracy of the organization’s financial records amongst other activities.

Primary Responsibilities of Role:
- Ensure accuracy of the organization’s financial records and compliance with best practice financial management principles and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the organization’s planning and reporting; financial analysis and forecasting; cost and revenue management; and fixed asset accounting.
- Drive and oversee the budgeting process and ensure inputs from all functions/units within the organisation are in compliance with stated guidelines and that exceptions are escalated appropriately.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of periodic management reports at the organisation to aid management decision-making.
- Ensure ongoing review, update, and documentation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial forecasts, and ratio analysis.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with the company’s accounting policies and FIRS.
- Compute taxes and prepare returns, manage balance sheet and profit/loss statements. Report on the company's financial health and liquidity
- Ensure that the company’s policies with respect to accounting for fixed assets are adhered to at all times.
- Manage and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders including local and international tax authorities, tax consultants, etc.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable for completed and ongoing projects
Competence Requirements:
Professional/Academic Qualifications:
- Relevant professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or its equivalent is required
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Accounting, Banking and Finance.)
Experience/Knowledge:
- Knowledge of applicable accounting software
- 7+ years of experience in accounting or banking and finance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working in the Big 4 consulting firm or similar (EY, KPMG, Deloitte, PWC) is an added advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
