Job Description



  • Manage and co-ordinate the scheduling of workload and resources to provide an effective and Mechanical Workshop programme.

  • To oversee the full range of activities of the workshop, including maintenance, material control and ensuring delivery of work on time and to quality standard.


Principal Accountabilities



  • Coordinates and directs the affairs of the mechanic workshop Department.

  • Contributes to the formulation and interpretation of organizational strategy as a member of extended management team.

  • Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the mechanic workshop including job scheduling and labour allocation for day to day operations.

  • Oversees maintenance and repair of equipment, both in the mechanic Workshop and at the Project Sites.

  • Co-ordinate resources, (operational and human) schedules and activities to effectively manage jobs.

  • Establishes productivity expectations and tracks the production and activity of the mechanic workshop workforce.

  • Provide oversight and check job estimates.

  • Co-ordinates resources, (operational and human) schedules and activities to effectively manage jobs.

  • Ensuring effective servicing and maintenance of heavy and light duty equipment to minimize downtime.

  • Ordering urgent or emergency repairs of equipment as needed.

  • Regularly reports progress on mechanic workshop activities and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the Executive Directors.

  • Establishes effective mechanic workshop management systems for stock control and monitoring of maintenance activities.

  • Monitor movement of equipment to ensure compliance with company polices or procedures.

  • Ensures that all materials used in the mechanic workshop meet defined standard.

  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Management.


Requirements



  • Candidate should possess a B.Sc / HND Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 20 years experience in heavy-duty and light duty automobile earthmoving equipment such as CAT, Man Diesel, etc.

  • Candidate must be competent withdiagnostic testing tools for CAT. MARK, MAN DIESEL, IVECO etc.

  • Experience in construction industry is an added advantage.
