Interface and follow up with expeditors on shipment status and plan for receiving/storage requirement
Ensures all loose items are properly assembled and marked up for identification and traceability
Provide adequate preservation for materials in stack yard pending when they are required on site
Liaise with site materials teams on site for materials distribution to various storage locations
Coordinate all support activities involved from freighting of materials to arrival on site including (but not limited to) documentation, evaluating and planning transportation requirements e.g. truck type, handling procedures etc
Prepares gate pass with detailed material description/ quantity, PO and item number sent from Lagos stack yard to AKK locations
Performs material inspection and flags up any discrepancy on PL/BOL and damage
Advice logistics on best practices on material handling and loading to project sites to avoid damage to equipment and materials
Develop a tracking system for monitoring materials sent to various storage locations and provide weekly updates
Organise and share periodic inventories of materials at stackyard to project team
Responsibilities
Shall abreast him/herself with the Materials management processes and procedures and shall ensure compliance with same in the daily discharge of duties.
Performs material inspection and prepares a material receiving report and any OSD as applicable
Marks up all materials received with relevant UID and tag numbers for tagged items
Sends weekly material status report to project team
Work with logistics supervisor to close out material requests to project sites in a timely manner
Ensure prompt physical interface with the logistics team for all distribution matters for prompt pick-up and delivery of materials to project sites
Ensure that all materials in stack yard are properly arranged, with good housekeeping always observed.
Check materials and ensure that total number of packages received, weight (i.e. tonnages), dimensions, tallies with what is documented shipping documents
Provide weekly report of movement of containers and materials from stack yard to project sites
Supervise the offloading of materials from container and ensuring compliance to HSE, management policies, and that all materials are securely kept in their right condition until ready for use.
Any other duty that may be assigned by Management
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administrations.
Membership of any MM or SCM related professional body e.g. CIWMM, CIPS, etc.
7 + years' experience in materials management or indirect category management.
Use of ERP (SAP knowledge will be an added advantage)
Technical knowledge of Oil & Gas operational Materials is compulsory
