Job Description



The Commercial Operations Executive is responsible for the development of our Solar business for long-term scale. This position ensures optimal start-up and running of the Business Unit, the operational performance, quality, cost, and schedule of Vesselnet’s solar projects while supporting the business to drive extensive and sustainable growth.


Responsibilities



  • Lead the Solar Business Unit – business and product development, engineering, sourcing, project management and customer service. 

  • Be responsible for the efficiency of our Solar BU and all operations within the business driving a developed project to commercial operation of products, solutions, and services. 

  • Constantly evaluate and improve our day-to-day operations, processes, people, and procedures to ensure quality, speed, safety and value creation. 

  • As a key member of the senior leadership team, be responsible for participating in setting the long-term growth strategies and creating plans to execute those strategies.

  • Accountable for all commercial aspects of engagement with multiple strategic suppliers (looking at existing contracts - analysis, negotiation, governance, and closure - to deliver greater rights

  • Accountable for ensuring strategic objectives are aligned to each commercial deal.

  • Managing teams (including Surveyors, Business Analyst, Data Analysts etc)

  • Responsible for managing the commercial strategy, interfaces, progress updates and reporting in alignment to all supplier negotiation.

  • Provision of all commercial deliverables (eg negotiation plan, contract risk analysis, benefits analysis and contract creation and closure)

  • Managing Complex Contract

  • Balance the Supplier requirements with those of the business to determine optimum deal position and maintain this through the lifecycle of supplier engagement.  

  • Identify and implement Opex-saving opportunities.


Must Have



  • Extensive, dedicated commercial experience.

  • Significant and demonstrable experience of negotiating business deals (customer/supplier facing)

  • Experience renegotiation large scale, high value, and complex contracts 

  • Experienced in ownership of deal business case and financial models.

  • In-depth knowledge of negotiation strategies and risk/value analysis (ideal) Strong understanding of the commercial solar market supply chain, including the factors that constrain, enable, and enhance the capability of individual suppliers and the supply chain as a whole. 

  • Excellent understanding of policies and business processes on negotiating deal 

  • Strong stakeholder relationship and skill

  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty. 

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.

  • Minimum qualification B.Sc. in Computer Engineering and Electronics, M.Sc. in Engineering Management


MINIMIUM EXPERIENCE                                                                                                                                       



  • At least 3 years Relevant Management and Solar Industry Experience                                                                                                   


PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION                                                                                         



  • M.Sc. MBA and other professional certification will be an added advantage
