Job Overview



  • Branch launched in Nigeria in 2017 and has seen rapid adoption and growth. As part of this team, you will work closely with our global finance team (distributed across three continents) to strengthen the capabilities of our finance and accounting function for Branch. 

  • This role will report to the International Controller and the Nigeria Managing Director.


Here Are Some Things You’ll Do



  • Manage the budgeting process and general long-term financial planning while working with stakeholders across different departments including the Global Head of FP&A.

  • Coordinate the financial reporting process, with periodic variance analysis to ensure timely and accurate production of financial results.

  • Co-lead fundraising activities which will involve (but is not limited to) attending roadshows and managing investor engagements

  • Liaise with external Auditors for annual financial audits and preparation of statutory financial statements.

  • Oversee the finance team by ensuring their alignment with assigned roles and responsibilities, and establishing accountability via coaching/mentoring. 

  • Support the Compliance team  and other departments  to ensure conformity with regulatory requirements

  • Ensure all statutory tax provisions and deductions (PAYE/VAT/WHT/Corporate tax) are reconciled and filed in a timely manner.

  • Build relationships with existing and prospective bank partners to optimize processing costs and other related services.

  • Periodically review existing finance team tools and processes to ensure team efficiency.


About You



  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Finance or related discipline

  • Professional finance certification e.g. ACCA, ICAN, CFA

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance position in a financial services organization, FinTech, or regulated company environment, with at least 2 of those in a management role.

  • Knowledge of relevant IFRS accounting standards

  • Detail-oriented, analytical with a strategic mindset

  • Knowledge of the Nigerian investment management landscape

  • Experience working with a  recognized ERP system; Netsuite by Oracle preferred.

  • Highly entrepreneurial and a great collaborator. You know that startups are a team sport. You listen to others, speak your mind, and ask the right questions.
