Job Summary:


We are looking for a skilled Extrusion Machine Operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery. You’ll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. An extrusion machine operator works in a factory, overseeing the production of rods, hoses, and other tubular shapes out of thermoplastic materials for manufacturing or construction. As an extrusion machine operator, your primary responsibilities are to monitor the use and maintenance of the industrial equipment in a factory.


Responsibilities for Machine Operator



  • Adjust, calibrate and test equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature and general operation

  • Examine visually, weigh and measure components created from equipment at the end of the week to ensure machines are producing according to company and industry regulations and standards, making adjustments as needed.

  • Work with team members, shift supervisors and all necessary personnel to take care of complications as they arise

  • Communicate with fellow team members to learn of any equipment problems or malfunctions, and take care of them as they come up

  • Use regulated cleaning solutions, grease guns, oil cans, air hoses and cleaning cloths to properly maintain and clean equipment on a bimonthly basis

  • Make repairs to equipment when necessary, and replace all defective, broken or worn-out components

  • Choose and install cutters, molds and all other necessary equipment parts so machines are always operating at peak efficiency.


Qualifications for Machine Operator



  • Minimum of SSCE

  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience

  • Must be detail-oriented

  • Understanding of production and plant processes

  • Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions

  • Ability to work in a team

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time

  • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)

  • #40,000 – #50,000
