Job Description



The primary responsibility of the role holder will be to oversee and manage the maintenance operations for our fleet of vehicles, equipment, and facilities. The role holder will also play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our client’s fleet of trucks through effective maintenance strategies, team management, and adherence to industry standards.


 Responsibilities:



  • Oversee and manage the maintenance operations for the fleet of vehicles, equipment, and facilities.

  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of assets.

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians and support staff, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve high-quality maintenance outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program, scheduling routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize asset performance.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, implementing appropriate safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment for maintenance personnel.

  • Monitor and analyze key maintenance metrics, such as equipment reliability, uptime, and maintenance costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and finance, to align maintenance objectives with overall company goals and initiatives.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring the timely availability of parts, equipment, and services.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in maintenance management, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, logistics, or a related field. Relevant certifications and training in maintenance management are a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management in the logistics/trucking industry, with at least 3 years in a senior management position.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing maintenance operations for a fleet of vehicles (especially trucks) and equipment.

  • Strong understanding of maintenance processes and best practices, including preventive maintenance, equipment diagnostics, and repair procedures.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data and trends to drive maintenance improvements and cost savings.

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards in the logistics/trucking industry.

  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
