Job Summary
- This position involves analyzing and ensuring accuracy of data, those who are well-suited to a career as a ledger accountant should apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Post and process journal entries such as Cash, Payroll, Benefits, Prepaid, In-kind, Expense Allocations & Revenue to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations to insure all items have been properly recorded in ledger for all bank accounts.
- Cross functional liaison for meeting objectives
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Assist with other accounting projects
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
- File and maintain all journal entries for internal and external audit purposes.
- Review all Ledger Accounts before ERP closure every month.
Requirements / Skills
The following requirements are mandatory:
- HND / B.Sc in Finance, Accounting, or any Business-related field
- ICAN (Individual who have graduated between 2017 to 2019)
- Post ICAN experience of 3 to 5 year with hands on experience in accounting and financial treatments
- Age: should not be more than 30 years
- Audit experience and account functions
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Excellent communication, research, problem solving, and time management skills.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines with high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and independently or as a team member
