Job Summary

• We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Reporter to join our news team. As a Business Reporter, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, engaging, and insightful news coverage on various business-related topics.

Job Roles

• Research and report on a wide range of business topics, including but not limited to finance, economics, industry trends, startups, and corporate news.


• Conduct interviews with business leaders, economists, analysts, and other relevant experts to gather information and insights.


• Stay up-to-date with the latest business news and market developments, both locally and globally.


• Pitch and develop compelling story ideas and angles that resonate with our audience.


• Write accurate, concise, and engaging news articles for print, online and broadcast platforms, adhering to Daily Trust’s journalistic standards and guidelines.


• Collaborate with editors, producers, and other team members to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality news content.


• Utilize various sources, including press releases, official reports, and financial statements, to gather information for reporting assigned beats.


• Contribute to live broadcasts, providing on-air analysis and commentary on business news stories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.


• Proven experience working as a Business Reporter or in a similar role within a media organization.


• Strong understanding of business and financial concepts, with the ability to translate complex information into accessible content.


• Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.


• Proficiency in conducting interviews and synthesizing information from various sources.


• Knowledge of journalistic ethics and standards.


• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
