Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and creative Architect to join our team. As an Architect, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of buildings, structures, and spaces. Your expertise in architectural principles, design concepts, and project management will be essential in creating functional, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable designs.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, objectives, and budget for the project.


2. Create architectural designs and concept drawings, considering factors such as functionality, aesthetics, building codes, and sustainability.


3. Prepare detailed architectural plans, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction documents.


4. Incorporate appropriate materials, textures, colors, and lighting into the design to achieve the desired atmosphere and visual appeal.


5. Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other architectural tools to create and present design proposals.


6. Conduct site visits to assess the feasibility of the project, analyze environmental and geographical factors, and identify any constraints or opportunities.


7. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the successful execution of the project.


8. Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team during the construction phase, addressing any design-related issues or modifications.


9. Monitor and oversee the progress of construction projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and timelines.


10. Stay updated with industry trends, building codes, and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative and sustainable practices into architectural designs.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.


2. Proven experience working as an Architect, preferably with a diverse portfolio showcasing various project types and scales.


3. Proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools.


4. Strong knowledge of architectural principles, building codes, construction materials, and techniques.


5. Ability to translate clients' requirements into functional and visually appealing designs.


6. Excellent drawing and visualization skills, both by hand and using computer software.


7. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.


8. Effective communication and presentation skills to convey design concepts and ideas to clients and project stakeholders.


9. Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and spatial relationships.


10. Knowledge of sustainable design principles and a commitment to incorporating environmentally friendly practices into architectural designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Professional licensure or registration as an Architect.


2. Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software, such as Rhino, 3ds Max, or Lumion.


3. Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) workflows and software.


4. Knowledge of LEED certification and green building practices.


5. Experience working on projects that involve historical preservation or adaptive reuse.


6. Candidate should reside on Lagos Island (Lekki, Ikota, Ikate, Ajah and Sangotedo axis)
