Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop the strategic direction for growing the company and increasing profitability.
- Provide strong leadership and management to employees while fostering a positive and motivating work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and a strong customer service culture.
- Monitor and manage the financial performance of the company, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize currency exchange rates and minimize risk associated with foreign currency transactions.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, financial reporting, and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficient and smooth processes.
- Identify and monitor currency inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure an adequate supply of currencies at competitive rates.
- Implement and maintain robust operational controls, security measures, and compliance procedures to prevent fraud, money laundering, and other risks.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining high service standards, resolving customer inquiries, and handling escalated issues promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, banks, and other partners to enhance business opportunities and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for service improvement and growth.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements related to bureau de change operations.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry best practices, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
- Conduct regular internal audits and implement corrective measures to address any compliance gaps or issues.
Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the Knowledge, Skill and/or ability required to perform this job satisfactorily:
- A degree from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a Bureau de Change company industry, with a solid understanding of its operations.
- Strategic thinker with strong knowledge of financial markets, exchange rates, and currency trading.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Sound financial acumen and experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and partners.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and the ability to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in relevant computer software applications.
