Job Summary
- We are looking for a Senior UPS Technician who will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on UPS and AVRs. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge in UPS, AVR, and Electrical drawings amongst others.
- This person should have a working knowledge of safety requirements as it relates to Low/High Voltage Systems, as well as Electrical Load and Site Knowledge. Good interpersonal skills as he will interface with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, recondition, and installation of service low and high voltage Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
- Review electrical drawings, prepare scopes of work, and manage electrical projects.
- Interface with customers concerning AVR/UPS status and provide detailed reports of findings.
- Provide recommendations pertaining to UPS and electrical systems on site, subject to ratification of the UPS Team lead.
- Perform preventive maintenance on UPS and AVR
- Attend meetings with Client and Sales Teams/ provide corrective solutions to site issues.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Installations of Surge Protection systems {Class-1, Class-2 & Class-1/-2 Compactable}.
- Installation of Earthing and Lightning Arrestor Systems
- Installations of Solar Street Lightning System.
- Evaluate and ensure each project meets specific viability and building criteria.
- Ensure prompt and complete resolution of client inquiries and complaints.
- Conduct engineering site audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information for use in the design of residential or commercial solar power systems.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- A Bachelor's Degree or it's equivalent in the following fields (Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Physics Electronics.
Experience:
- 6 - 8 years of relevant experience.
Skills / Requirements:
- Possess Electrical/UPS OEM training desired (Kstar/Liebert/Emerson, APC/MGE, EATON/Powerware, Siemens, and ABB UPS).
- Must operate within division policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives
- Must comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
- Provide on-the-job training to electricians and other trades as assigned.
- Develop and submit site reports pertaining to UPS and AVR.
- Demonstrated technical skill and competence pertaining to UPS and AVR
- Possesses Knowledge and skills to operate electrical diagnostic
equipment/Analyze and provide recommendations based on equipment diagnosis
- Thorough knowledge of electrical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to improvise when best solutions are not available.
- Knowledge of single-line electrical drawings.
- Understanding of commercial power supply, UPS, and generator interface.
- Working knowledge of safety requirements while working on Low/High voltage systems.
- Familiar with the Electrical Code and site implications.
- Does not have phobia for height.
