Network Engineer



  • The Network Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting IP communication networks.

  • Your goals would include the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for devices and individual users (staff, clients, customers, suppliers so on.).

  • This role would require a solid understanding of networking and routing protocols and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, while securing the network.


Duties and responsibilities



  • Install new hardware, systems, and IP network software.

  • Install, configure, maintain network services, equipment and devices.

  • Support administration of servers and server clusters.

  • Manage all system back-up and restore protocol.

  • Plan and support IP networks and computing infrastructure.

  • Perform troubleshooting analysis of routers, switches and firewalls.

  • Document network problems and resolution for future reference.

  • Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam.

  • Oversee software and network security.

  • Ensure the stability of network infrastructure throughout the region and timely delivery of projects.

  • Manage and implement operation related projects to maintain and enhance customer service satisfaction, network stability and scalability with business growth.

  • Work with customers to provide remote troubleshooting and resolution of network issues.

  • Work with customers at varying levels of experience or technical capability under varying time constraints.

  • Responsible for creating network diagrams for new services and projects and update diagrams for upgrades to existing installations.

  • Technical fault analysis and troubleshooting.

  • Maintenance of data centre environment – cabling, labelling, standards and so on.

  • Provide technical support to a wide range of users, both internal and external.

  • Monitor network security and alerts

  • Carrying out other duties as may be assigned.


Qualification and requirements



  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or any other related field or equivalent.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of IP networking essentials.

  • Ability to develop documentation including user guides.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative and fast paced environment.

  • Self-motivated and able to deliver on projects after being given high-level objectives.

  • Ability to document and provide reports on day-to-day activities. including support and installations.

  • IP, MPLS, SDH, JUNOs, Cisco iOS.

  • Good understanding of the issues involved with administering and maintaining corporate/client infrastructure.

  • Experienced in assisting and supporting client applications.

  • Able to assist with basic troubleshooting, backup, and archiving.

  • Familiar with providing first and second line support to customers.

  • Inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
