Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Account Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting department by providing accurate financial data analysis and assisting with various accounting tasks. This position requires proficiency in Excel, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform financial data analysis using Excel to support the accounting team in decision-making processes.
- Prepare and maintain various financial reports, spreadsheets, and databases, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, providing recommendations based on data analysis.
- Conduct regular audits of financial data to identify discrepancies, errors, or potential fraud.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of financial transactions, invoices, and other accounting documents.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial analysis and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Account Assistant or in a similar role, with a focus on financial analysis and Excel proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data manipulation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to financial reporting.
- Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA or related certified are desirable but not required
