- Develop PR and external comms strategies in partnership with business leads to advance business objectives
- Coordinate the production of promotional materials including releases, media kits, and presentations
- Use social media to tell our story in creative and inspiring ways that resonate with various audiences
- Manage website content and design to ensure delivery of clear and creative content
Key Responsibilities
DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES:
- Create comprehensive communication plans that align with organisational objectives.
- Identify target audiences and develop tailored messaging for each group.
- Utilise various communication channels (such as newsletters, websites, social media, and press releases) to deliver key messages effectively.
BRAND MANAGEMENT:
- Maintain and enhance the organization's brand identity and reputation.
- Develop brand guidelines and ensure consistent implementation across all communication materials.
- Monitor brand perception and make necessary adjustments to messaging and strategies.
INTERNAL COMMUNICATION:
- Facilitate effective internal communication within the organisation.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
- Coordinate and organise internal events, meetings, and town halls to promote transparency and foster a positive work culture.
EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION:
- Act as the organisation's spokesperson and main point of contact for media relations.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and relevant industry influencers.
- Draft and distribute press releases, manage media inquiries, and coordinate interviews or statements.
CRISIS COMMUNICATION:
- Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to ensure effective handling of potential crises or issues.
- Serve as the primary communication liaison during crises, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
- Mitigate potential reputational risks through proactive communication strategies.
CONTENT CREATION AND MANAGEMENT:
- Create engaging and informative content for various platforms and channels.
- Manage the organisation's website, blog, social media accounts, and other digital communication channels.
- Monitor and analyse communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years' of experience in communications operations
- Proven experience in a similar communications role, preferably in a corporate or nonprofit or impact for profit environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using various communication tools and platforms.
- Familiarity with media relations and crisis communication.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
