What you’ll do
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following activities satisfactorily:
Primary Healthcare Systems Strengthening
- Support the Project Manager in day to day implementation of routine project activities.
- Work with the Federal and state MDA (FMoH, NPHCDA, SMoH, SPHCDA etc.) to strengthen coordination platforms for COVID-19/RI Interventions in the state.
- Utilize relevant assessment tools to assess health systems and monitor the implementation of the performance optimization plans across supported states.
- Advocate and ensure sustainable health systems strengthening program implementation consistent with Nigerian Guidelines, global best practices and NPHCDA Strategic Directions including advice on relevant latest health developments & publications.
- Coordinate the monitoring of HSS and sustainability program progress against deliverables on a quarterly basis.
- Coordinate with the Zonal Coordinators and partners to develop and implement feasible health systems strengthening approaches for routinizing the COVID-19 Vaccine Delivery in the Country.
- Represent eHA at and provide expert technical assistance on primary healthcare delivery systems strengthening to FMOH, SMOH and NPHCDA/SPHCDA and through Federal or State Technical Working Groups
- Support routine work planning, training plans and quarterly reports and other required technical reports.
- Gathering relevant information on the project and enhancing informed accurate decision-making.
- Contributing to the development of training curricula, tools, and related resources for workshops, and seminars.
- Engage and follow-up with other thematic units on roles & responsibilities in line with the project deliverables/milestones. Also, Support in identifying constraints to the success of the project.
- Providing general administration and follow through with documentations for the project.
- Support in the monitoring of project performance by ensuring that activities are delivered within scope, time and budget
- Support regular monitoring and analysis of program results in coordination with MERL team
- Documentation of learning and sharing minutes with project staff and government staff for continuous improvement of project as well as relationship building
- Assist to identify, assess, and communicate risks associated with the implementation of project, and develop mitigation measures
- Maintain strong coordination with all Stakeholders (staff, partners and, government)
- Work closely with the Project Manager & Program Manager to achieve program objectives and targets effectively and efficiently.
- Assist the Project Manager to develop the project team's weekly and monthly work plans.
- Any other assigned task by the Project Manager and/or Program Manager.
Design and Implementation of RMNCAH+N programs
- Provide technical guidance and input into the design and implementation of high impact RMNCAH+N programs that are sound, evidence-based and responsive to the needs of project states and at the National level as identified.
- Provide advice on the integration of these services into established service delivery systems at different levels of care.
- Provide technical input in the proposal development for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent and Elderly Health Plus Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) Opportunities.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders at the National and State level to apply lessons learned, innovations and quality methods to ensure evidence-based practices are translated to improved implementation of quality of care interventions.
- Provide technical support to the building of national and local capacity using proven training approaches and quality improvement methodologies.
- Provide technical support to key stakeholders at the national and State level including review of technical documents and providing input to relevant policies and strategies.
- Coordinate closely with other development partner programs at the national and state level.
- Contribute to and coordinate with the program’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) team on activities to ensure that the program meets set targets in accordance with national and donor standards.
- Represent eHA at national and state-level stakeholder meetings and technical working groups in relation to RMNCAEH+N and related technical areas.
Who you are
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform this job.
- B.SC./Master's in Public Health, Nutrition, Epidemiology or Statistics or another related field.
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years on the job experience working on primary healthcare systems strengthening and RMNCAH. Experience working with donor funded (USAID, FCDO, BMGF etc.) projects is highly desirable.
- Project Management experience (with known application of the project management methodologies - PRINCE2, DPRO, PMD Pro 1&2) including experience preparing high quality reports, scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Experience working in close collaboration with government (National and Sub-national) in the design and implementation of immunization and/or nutrition related programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management experience.
- Quick result delivery, adaptability and open mind to learning and development.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, organizational skills and great attention to detail. Must be able to work as a leader and member of a team and possess good problem-solving skills.
- Strong research and analysis skills including knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies and experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis; an added advantage
- Must possess the ability to organize, and coordinate with team members f while promoting group effort and achievement.
- Must have the ability to manage conflicts and resolve problems effectively.
- Advanced computer skills, including Google Drive, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
Language Ability
- English is the spoken and written language.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and the general public.
