Our client an asset management company in Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking to employ skilled and enthusiastic Portfolio and Investment Manager to join their dynamic team. As a Portfolio and Investment Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing investment portfolios, developing investment strategies, and maximizing returns for our clients
Responsibilities:
- To manage investment portfolios and develop strategies that align with clients' objectives, risk tolerance, and investment guidelines of the business.
- Ensure optimal investment performance and client satisfaction by applying comprehensive portfolio management techniques.
- Develop and implement investment strategies and asset allocation models to meet clients' objectives and risk profiles.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis on various asset classes, industries, and individual securities to identify attractive investment opportunities.
- Construct and manage investment portfolios, selecting appropriate securities and diversifying assets to achieve optimal risk-adjusted returns.
- Monitor portfolio performance, analyze market trends, and provide regular reports and updates to clients.
- Stay updated with economic developments, financial news, and regulatory changes that may impact investment decisions.
- Collaborate with research analysts, traders, and other investment professionals to gather insights and make informed investment decisions.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investment holdings, making recommendations for adjustments or rebalancing as needed.
- Conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities, assessing their risk-return profiles and alignment with clients' investment objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, investment methodologies, and evolving market trends.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service, addressing their inquiries, and offering investment advice.
- Develop and deliver presentations to clients, showcasing investment strategies, performance, and market insights.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and investment guidelines.
- Mentor and guide junior investment professionals, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Report Line:
You will report directly to the Managing Director, collaborating closely with other teams to align investment strategies with business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. A master's degree and professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or similar qualifications are highly desirable.
- Membership in professional organizations such as the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) or the Financial Planning Association of Nigeria (FPAN) is advantageous.
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment principles, and portfolio management techniques.
- Proven experience in managing investment portfolios, demonstrating a track record of delivering superior investment performance.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to conduct in-depth financial analysis and assess investment opportunities.
- Sound understanding of asset allocation, risk management, and investment valuation methodologies.
- Proficient in using investment analysis tools, financial modeling, and portfolio management software.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex investment concepts to clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, leveraging cross-functional expertise and insights.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop junior investment professionals.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to regulatory compliance.
