We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our logistics firm.
The ideal candidate should have a solid background in procurement, preferably within the logistics or spare parts industry, and possess 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services needed for our operations.
Responsibilities
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, products, and services, considering quality, cost, delivery, and availability.
Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts and pricing terms to secure favorable deals and optimize procurement costs.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as operations, warehouse, and maintenance departments, to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while actively seeking new suppliers to expand the supplier base and mitigate risks.
Monitor and track procurement activities, such as purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance, to ensure timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, addressing any issues and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier information, using appropriate documentation and systems.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
Proven work experience as a Procurement Officer, preferably within a logistics or spare parts firm, for 2-3 years.
Strong knowledge of procurement principles, processes, and best practices.
Familiarity with logistics operations, spare parts management, and supplier relationship management.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance data to inform procurement decisions.
Proficient in using procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
