Job Brief



  • We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our logistics firm.

  • The ideal candidate should have a solid background in procurement, preferably within the logistics or spare parts industry, and possess 2-3 years of relevant work experience.

  • As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services needed for our operations.


Responsibilities



  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, products, and services, considering quality, cost, delivery, and availability.

  • Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts and pricing terms to secure favorable deals and optimize procurement costs.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as operations, warehouse, and maintenance departments, to understand their procurement needs and requirements.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while actively seeking new suppliers to expand the supplier base and mitigate risks.

  • Monitor and track procurement activities, such as purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance, to ensure timely delivery and adherence to specifications.

  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, addressing any issues and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier information, using appropriate documentation and systems.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.

  • Proven work experience as a Procurement Officer, preferably within a logistics or spare parts firm, for 2-3 years.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, processes, and best practices.

  • Familiarity with logistics operations, spare parts management, and supplier relationship management.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance data to inform procurement decisions.

  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite.

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
