SGI Global is seeking a Technical Advisor to provide investigative expertise, direction and leadership to the Wildlife Trafficking Vetted Unit (WTVU) in Lagos, Nigeria while focusing efforts to develop United States (US) nexus investigation.
Duties/Responsibilities
Establish and manage a Wildlife Trafficking Trusted Unit (WTTU) in Lagos, Nigeria, along with other overseas locations with USFWS presence. The WTTU will consist of approximately 25 Officers of the Nigerian wildlife authority and will be vetted, trained and equipped to form an effective Unit to proactively investigate international wildlife trafficking organizations.
Assist the FWS Attach in maintaining liaison with the Service offices, International Affairs (IA) and other US Government (USG) officials to facilitate specific training and equipment needs.
Maintain liaison with embassy staff, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and host country officials.
Conduct routine inventories and audits to ensure accountability of funds and property.
Prepare quarterly reports required under the INL IAA.
Minimum Requirements
Twenty (20) years prior experience as a Criminal Investigator
Prior experience living and working overseas
International capacity building experience
Prior law enforcement experience
Program management and supervisory experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs i.e. PowerPoint, EXCEL, Word
