Job Description
Job Objective:
We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our logistics company. As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting the company's financial health and decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reports.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, statements, and analysis, such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance reports.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Payroll Processing: Coordinate and process payroll activities, including employee salary disbursement, tax deductions, and benefits administration.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets and provide insights on variations.
- Auditing: Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and reports as requested.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
- Cost Control: Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the quality and efficiency of logistics operations.
- Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on accounting principles, standards, and regulations relevant to the logistics industry. Ensure compliance with relevant financial laws and guidelines.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred.
- Experience: Proven work experience as an Accountant, preferably within the logistics or supply chain industry. Experience with logistics cost accounting and inventory management is a plus.
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Financial Software: Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
- Time Management: Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Communication: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Salary: 200-250k (Monthly Gross)
