Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should be able to:



  • Lead and supervise a team of lawyers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

  • Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations.

  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the team.

  • Provide expert legal advice and support to clients in matters related to corporate and commercial law.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.

  • Conduct legal research, analyze relevant laws and regulations, and stay updated on industry trends.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs, and providing strategic legal advice accordingly.

  • Collaborate with clients to develop legal strategies, resolve disputes, and mitigate legal risks.

  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality legal services in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with the Managing Partner and other department heads to develop and implement departmental goals, strategies, and policies.

  • Monitor departmental performance, track key metrics, and report on progress to the Managing Partner.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

  • Identify and mitigate legal risks for the department and clients.

  • Stay updated on changes in corporate and commercial laws and regulations and communicate relevant updates to the team.


Educational Qualification and Work Experience



  • Candidates should possess a University Degree (2.1 Minimum) in Law (LLB)

  • B.L - Law School certificate (2.1 Minimum).

  • 3–5 year post- call experience practicing corporate and commercial law.


Requirements:



  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and commercial transactions.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Proficient in legal research and writing.

  • Flexible to work weekends and overtime where required.
