Responsibilities
The ideal candidate should be able to:
- Lead and supervise a team of lawyers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the team.
- Provide expert legal advice and support to clients in matters related to corporate and commercial law.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Conduct legal research, analyze relevant laws and regulations, and stay updated on industry trends.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs, and providing strategic legal advice accordingly.
- Collaborate with clients to develop legal strategies, resolve disputes, and mitigate legal risks.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality legal services in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Managing Partner and other department heads to develop and implement departmental goals, strategies, and policies.
- Monitor departmental performance, track key metrics, and report on progress to the Managing Partner.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks for the department and clients.
- Stay updated on changes in corporate and commercial laws and regulations and communicate relevant updates to the team.
Educational Qualification and Work Experience
- Candidates should possess a University Degree (2.1 Minimum) in Law (LLB)
- B.L - Law School certificate (2.1 Minimum).
- 3–5 year post- call experience practicing corporate and commercial law.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and commercial transactions.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in legal research and writing.
- Flexible to work weekends and overtime where required.
