Responsibilities

• Architect data in the cloud (open to cloud platform)


• Own and drive the technical design, development, and day-to-day support of the Data Warehouse and associated ETL processes


• Support ongoing data quality and data integrity initiatives through audit, balance, and control procedures, alerts and reports, and automated recovery


• Designs, develops, extends, and maintains Data Warehouses and Data Marts


• Provides expert level application and data analysis for data warehouse and systems integration projects


• Manages and monitors of daily database backups of databases from operational systems


• Designs and codes ETL processes and constructs OLAP data sources


• Develops the scripts used to load data into the data warehouse


• Develops scripts and programs to extract data from source systems


• Develops the scripts necessary to incrementally evolve the data warehouse data model


• Creates and maintains project requirements documents


• Creates technical project documentation


• Works closely with Applications Architect and Project Managers to ensure proper architecture design and compliance with database and development standards


• Implements and deploys phases of business intelligence and systems integration projects


• Performs production support of data warehouse and BI related systems


• Advises/recommends project and activities as related to system/architectural direction and strategy


• Assist with identifying required data in various source environments identifying data quality gaps


• Experience: Strong understanding of database structures/Data Modeling, theories, principles and practices


• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, STAR schema design, Snow fake schema design, slowly changing dimensions, confirmed dimensions.


• ETL design, development and monitoring


• Proficiency in the use of DBMS tools for various DBMS including Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL and ETL tools


• Proficiency in SQL Language Scripting


• Eight or more years in database/data warehouse development experience


• Previous experience supporting a data warehouse optimized for a Business Intelligence environment preferred


• Ability to execute assigned tasks with a high degree of independence based on verbal or written requirements


• Ability to adhere to coding standards and participate in peer code reviews


• Some shell scripting skills is an added advantage
