Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join Sinoma Nigeria Company Limited, a subsidiary of China Building Materials International Engineering Co., Ltd (CBMI), a globally renowned company in the construction industry specializing in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) turnkey projects. As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Sinoma Nigeria, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing mechanical systems and components for a diverse range of projects. In addition to your engineering expertise, your understanding of Chinese Mandarin will be valuable in facilitating effective communication and collaboration with our Chinese counterparts.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with clients, architects, and stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements, objectives, and constraints.


• Develop innovative mechanical design concepts, considering functionality, performance, and manufacturability while ensuring adherence to Chinese and international standards.


• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications using CAD software, effectively incorporating feedback from relevant stakeholders.


• Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate and optimize mechanical designs, ensuring they meet quality and safety criteria.


• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to seamlessly integrate mechanical designs into overall project plans.


• Generate comprehensive technical documentation and reports, communicating design concepts, rationales, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.


• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in mechanical engineering, and explore their potential applications within our projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.


• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in engineering consulting or construction projects.


• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and engineering drawings.


• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design considerations, with an ability to adapt them to diverse project requirements.


• Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical systems, both in Nigeria and internationally.


• Basic understanding of Chinese Mandarin to facilitate effective communication with our Chinese headquarters and colleagues.


• Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborate within a multicultural team environment.
