Job Purpose



  • The procurement officer will; oversee purchases and develop new contracts, play a key role in procuring high-quality and cost-efficient supplies for the organization whilst following procurement procedures, maintain an updated list of current and incoming inventory, and be responsible for approving purchases.


Job Responsibilities



  • Implement plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.

  • Complying with the company's procurement policies and procedures.

  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and obtaining necessary approvals for products and services to be purchased.

  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.

  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.

  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts, ensuring a win-win situation

  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.

  • Checking the standard and quality of items received according to specification.

  • Processing and fast-tracking vendor / supplier payments as at when due.

  • Market analysis survey.

  • Preparing budgets, cost analysis, and reports on the cost of consumables periodically.


Job Specification



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a procurement officer

  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain. (CIPSCM)

  • Must have basic clerical and administrative skills, such as typing / Word Processing, and be computer literate.
