- Oversee all bakery operations, including production, staff management, inventory control, and financial reporting.
- Lead and motivate the bakery team to achieve excellence in product quality, presentation, and customer service.
- Plan and schedule production to ensure timely and efficient production of bakery items, such as breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.
- Maintain and monitor product quality standards, ensuring adherence to recipes, portioning, and presentation guidelines.
- Manage inventory, including ordering and receiving ingredients, supplies, and merchandise, and conduct regular inventory audits.
- Train and mentor bakery team members, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Manage schedules, labor costs, and payroll to optimize staffing levels and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with the management team to implement marketing initiatives, promotions, and special events to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards throughout the bakery.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency in bakery operations.
Qualification and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree qualification from a recognized higher institution
- Certification and exceptional knowledge of culinary arts or baking and pastry arts are advantageous.
- Minimum of 7-12 years of experience as a bakery manager, preferably with experience in managing a large bakery or a portfolio of bakery preferably in retail (chain business).
- Knowledge of procurement of bakery equipment and handling the full maintenance of such.
- Strong knowledge of different baking techniques.
- Possession of a food handler's license.
- Ability to work under pressure.
