Job Summary
Electrical Asset Maintenance Officer, install, inspect, and maintain batteries. He/she must be safety conscious to avoid being injured by acid, fumes, or electric shock, and must understand the risk of chemical explosions.
Responsibilities
Primary
- Routinely inspecting electrical asset in the warehouse.
- Identifying faults of electrical instruments
- Troubleshooting system failures.
- Reviewing blueprints to understand wiring placement.
- Testing of electrical systems with oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ohmmeters.
- Conducting maintenance repairs on old or faulty fixtures.
- Responding to fault requests.
- Providing suggestions for equipment replacement.
- Writing electrical maintenance reports.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary on portable battery changers and battery transfer machines as defined by manufacturer’s specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary on batteries and stationary chargers as defined by manufacturer’s specifications.
- Ensure that Battery Changing equipment is maintained (daily inspection) and clean; reports repair or service needs to supervisor to reduce equipment damage.
- Maintain maintenance records on batteries and applicable equipment.
- Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Observe and enforce all safety rules to reduce accidents and injuries.
- Understand and comply with all applicable company policies (i.e., attendance, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Associate Handbook etc).
Secondary
- Report to site manager and carry out assign responsibilities which may include, site maintenance activities, site monitoring e.t.c
Requirements
- HND. (Electrical and Electronic) With 1-3 years of experience in battery maintenance and electrical works.
- The ability to liaise with team members.
- The ability to create detailed reports.
- A confident professional who can work using their own initiative to reduce cost and improve battery efficiency.
