We’re looking for creative and thoughtful self-starters to help connect Africa’s food businesses with the tools and information they need to grow.
As a member of the Vendease marketing team, you’ll help shape and implement campaigns that drive leads for the company’s suite of B2B products and community efforts to help meet our growth goals within the markets we operate.
Responsibilities
As content marketer at Vendeease, You’ll become an audience, industry, and product expert who deeply understands the challenges food businesses in Africa face, and you’ll leverage a broad range of tactics — including content creation, content partnerships, events, webinars, and much more — to help food businesses recognise the ways Vendease can help accelerate their growth.
You’ll help acquire new leads and help existing clients discover new ways to leverage Vendease’s technology products, and make inroads into communities that need our help. You’ll achieve success by working with our content writers, community managers, designers, product, and comms team to generate valuable, engaging and enjoyable content for our audience.
We operate in an opportunity-rich, but information-poor environment. The ideal candidate for this role is a creative powerhouse who enjoys the challenge of coming up with innovative ideas to engage with our audience and clients, and rolling up your sleeves to drive experiments, launch campaigns, and measure the ROI of those efforts.
A background working in the food industry and/or at tech startups would be a plus, but is not required. If you have a strong bias for action and can document information like lives depend on it, we want to speak with you.
This is an exciting time to join the Vendease marketing and comms team team. We're growing quickly and bringing new products and services to our customers and we're looking for a colleague who is both clever and kind to help build and scale the ultimate food operating system for Africa.
In summary, you will:
Develop and implement strong content marketing strategies.
Grow content verticals (We recently launched OpenSauce, a community-led media publication for eaters, drinkers, and travellers)
Assist in sustainable community building strategies for content pipelines in line with the company’s business goals.
Additionally:
You’ll be responsible for all content marketing initiatives, including identifying customers to target, producing content, and driving traffic and leads from content marketing.
Taking full ownership of newsletters, across all the different stages, including curating, editing, growing, experimenting and delivering.
Planning and executing the content strategy for newsletters on a weekly schedule.
Analyse current customer base to figure out who we should target from content marketing and talk to customers to figure out pain points, questions and topics to write content about
Identify promotion channels that we should use and proactively share content in those places
Optimise blog posts around high impact keywords and measure content performance (traffic, reach, conversions, SEO, etc).
Requirements
At least three (3) years of clear, trackable experience in a content marketing role (with bias to working in a high paced startup)
Proof of work in strategising and implementation.
